UN June Climate Meetings commence in Bonn, Germany

The UN June Climate Meetings, formally known as the 62nd session of the Subsidiary Bodies (SB62), are commencing today at the World Conference Centre Bonn (WCCB) in Bonn, Germany, where the UN Climate Change (UNFCCC) is headquartered. 

Building on the progress achieved at the COP29 UN Climate Change Conference in Baku last year, the meetings from 16 to 26 June aim to drive forward progress on key issues and prepare decisions for adoption at the upcoming COP30 UN Climate Change Conference in Belém, Brazil, in November of this year. 

Government delegates and civil society representatives will make up a significant part of the around 5,000 participants expected to attend the meetings.

16 June: Opening Plenary with speech by Executive Secretary Simon Stiell; Baku to Belem Roadmap on Climate Finance event; Global Goal on Adaptation event 

18 June: Oceans and Climate Change Dialogue; COP30 Presidency Mutirão event;  

21 June: Just Transition event; Transparency/BTR event; COP30 Presidency event on Information Integrity 

25 June: Santiago Network on Loss and Damage event 

26 June: Closing Plenary
