About ZW Climate Brief

ZW Climate Brief provides timely, reliable and accessible climate news, information and data to government, regulators, businesses, researchers and the public in Zimbabwe.

We cover the policies, science, economics, energy, environment, agriculture and people shaping Zimbabwe’s climate story, with a focus on helping our audiences understand the risks, opportunities and decisions associated with a changing climate.

Our journalism examines how climate change is affecting Zimbabwe’s economy, communities, natural resources and development, and how the country can pursue sustainable growth while responding to the climate crisis.

We aim to make complex climate issues clear, relevant and accessible while maintaining the standards of accuracy, independence and accountability expected of serious journalism.

Mission

Our mission is to provide credible, useful and timely climate journalism that helps Zimbabweans understand how climate and environmental change affect their lives, livelihoods, businesses and communities.

We also seek to contribute to a better-informed public conversation about Zimbabwe’s climate future by bringing together news, analysis, data, explainers and expert perspectives.

Our approach

Climate change is not only an environmental story. It is an economic, social, scientific and development story. Our journalism therefore looks beyond headline events to examine the policies, evidence, decisions and people behind Zimbabwe’s climate challenges and opportunities.

  • Report accurately and fairly.
  • Explain complex issues clearly.
  • Use credible evidence and data.
  • Give appropriate context to climate-related claims.
  • Distinguish reporting from analysis and opinion.
  • Correct significant errors transparently.
  • Seek perspectives from relevant stakeholders.
  • Highlight the Zimbabwean context while recognising regional and global connections.

Editorial independence

ZW Climate Brief is committed to editorial independence. Commercial relationships, partnerships, sponsorships or other forms of support do not determine our editorial conclusions or coverage.

Where content is sponsored, paid for or produced as part of a commercial partnership, we will make that distinction clear to our audience.
